Sumner County school board member Beth Cox will discuss current issues facing the school board at the Sumner County Republican Women’s Club’s meeting on March 21 at 9 a.m. at Shoney’s Restaurant in Hendersonville. Visitors are encouraged to attend. Breakfast is optional.

SCHOOL BOARD MARCH MEETING AGENDA SET
The Sumner County School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 17th, in the Board Room of the District Office, 695 E. Main Street in Gallatin, beginning at 6:00 PM. A copy of the agenda can be found here.

Items to be discussed and/or voted upon include:

-The establishment of a Homeless Committee
-Second and final reading of several Board Policies, including Disruption of School Board
-Meetings, Sumner County Athletic Committee and Cheerleading Selection
Adoption of a school board five-year plan based (in part or whole) on discussions held at the school board retreat in January
-A recommendation by the director of schools to rescind (make void) the December board decision to rename the current Knox Doss Middle School to Station Camp Middle School

The public is invited to attend. As always, the board allows time for citizen comments at the beginning of the meeting on any item that is on the agenda.
