Question of the Week for 7/7/2008
How did your family celebrate the Fourth of July?
As my children get older, it becomes more and more important to me that we celebrate holidays together and with "set" traditions. Of course with four little ones, it is hard to establish "set" traditions each year but we are working on it as a family. The hardest thing for us is to determine which events we do and which we do not. This year we celebrated by having a family cookout by the pool and then going to see the fireworks at Hendersonville's Park. We all had a wonderful time.

Question of the Week 6/30/2008
What is your secret as a mom to staying healthy and physically fit?
As mothers, our health is usually an area that can get neglected and overlooked. However, we need to remember that if we are not healthy and physically fit we will not be able to perform our role and duties of being a mother the way God wants us to be. I think this is a great opportunity for us to share tips and secrets that really do work and are easy to incorporate in our busy lives as mothers!

Question of the Week for 6/23/2008
What are some methods, tips, and strategies that you used to teach your children manners? What worked? What did not work? What would you have done differently?
In a society that can overlook the importance of manners and respect, I think that children and adults who do use manners are a gem and stand out from the crowd. As soon as my children started to talk, we (my husband and I) started using "please", "thank you", and other forms of manners when talking with them during our daily conversations. A method that worked for us is "practicing what we preached." The more we as parents used manners the more the children did. Everyone knows that children mocked adults and older siblings so this technique worked quite well for our family. Now, if one of us forgets a "please" or "thank you", they are very quick to remind us!

This week's question is one that many parents face regarding their children's education. It is a difficult decision to determine where to send your children. Hopefully by sharing information with other parents, we can find a program that best fits the needs of our family while exposing our children to the social development and emotional development prior to the start of their kindergarten year. Question of the Week for May 12, 2008
What was your favorite part of Mother's Day?
My favorite part of Mother's Day was getting to spend time with the kids and then have a family dinner with the most important women in my life, my mom and grandma. I love learning about motherhood from them. It is an honor to be taught how to love and how to raise your children by someone who has a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge about motherhood and who has so much to teach to us younger mothers. Hope everyone had a memorable Mother's Day and spent it with the women that they hold dear to their hearts.
