November 3-November 18 Holiday Design Home 2007 Nashville Lifestyles and Sumner Lifestyles are joining with Fairvue Plantation to present the first Holiday Showhouse to benefit the Junior Service League of Gallatin. Situated on the Peninsula of Fairvue Plantation, the spectacular home was built by Hughes-Edwards Homes, LLC and each room is decorated by local designers. Proceeds from this event provide essential support for the women and children of Gallatin through organizations such as CAP (Children Are People, Inc), CASA, TRAC House and Friends of the Library. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. They can be purchased at The Red Tulip, Whitney’s Interiors, Patricia Jane’s, Slender Wrap of Hendersonville, Perkins Drugs, The French Shoppe and Essence Lighting. Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The show house is closed to the public on Mondays. November 19 11th Annual Christmas for Kids Benefit Concert Charlie Daniels and friends Rodney Atkins, Taylor Swift and others perform at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville at 7 p.m.

This charity event, along with the Tour Bus Show, raises money for the Christmas for Kids organization. Proceeds are used to escort children from 25 area schools for a day-long excursion aboard country music stars’ luxury tour buses to Wal-Mart where they are accompanied by a volunteer to participate in their own Christmas shopping spree.

November 1-December 31 HolidayFest The Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce presents HolidayFest, an information tool to provide local residents and visitors the opportunity to plan their weekends in Hendersonville. November 30-December 2 Who Fest Hendersonville, as the sister city of Whoville, will have a three day “Whofest” for you to enjoy. Friday, November 30 begins the celebration with a gingerbread competition, tree lighting, boat parade and St. Nicholas Ball. It ends on Sunday, December 1 with the 25th Anniversary Christmas Parade, where Cindy Loo Woo essay winners and Cindy Loo Woo look-alikes are highlighted. November 30 and December 1 St. Nicholas Market Craft Fair and Gingerbread Competition Our Lady of the Lake Church in Hendersonville will host its first gingerbread competition in conjunction with St. Nicholas Market, a craft fair to be held at the church. The gingerbread competition will be held on Friday, November 30, and the entries will be judged and on display throughout the event. The gingerbread creations will be each be auctioned and sold at the St. Nicholas Ball on Saturday evening. December 1 Christmas on the Creek The 7th Annual Lighted Boat Parade begins at 6 p.m. at Mallard Point in Hendersonville on Old Hickory Lake. December 1 The Mantles of Rose Mont Rose Mont Restoration Foundation will host this gala event at the Rose Mont mansion at 810 South Water Avenue in Gallatin from 6 to 9 p.m. The mantles of the mansion will be decorated by local florists and retailers and the evening’s entertainment will be provided by local talent. Wine, cheese and hors d’oeuvres will be served. All proceeds will be used toward the continued restoration and maintenance of Rose Mont.
