Keep Moms in the Know
Gallatin, TN - What do you get when you have a couple of very resourceful
moms, six kids, two very busy schedules and a broadband connection?
SumnerMoms.com! The brainchild of good friends Amber Salinas and Gail
Williams, www.sumnermoms.com provides mothers with helpful hints,
community resources, menu ideas for quick and easy meals, an exhaustive
collection of parenting tips and much, much more. The idea first got its start in 2004
when Amber and Gail organized the Hendersonville Nutritional Coalition in
an effort to discover more truth on nutrition and health and to share their
findings with others in their community.
The monthly meetings saw strong attendance for a time, but began
to dwindle as moms became more and more occupied with the
responsibilities of daily life. Although the group dissolved, Amber and Gail
still saw a great need for a forum where busy moms could exchange
ideas and information, and in October of 2007, www.sumnermoms.com was born.
“Moms are the center of the household. Everything happens through mom,”
says Amber. “This website is literally a one-stop shop for moms.”
So far, the response to the website has been overwhelming. And not just
from Sumner County moms, but on-the-go moms everywhere! “It is extremely
important for moms to be able to be updated on the newest and latest parenting
methods, especially new moms,” says Amber. “The Internet is a great source for moms.

relevant as it is now without a broadband connection. “If we didn’t have broadband, we
would not be able to update our website as frequently because of the connectivity delays,” Amber explains. “With broadband, we can update the site literally within minutes.
And since I add to the site late at night after the kids have gone to bed, the time factor
Within the next few years, they hope to expand the site with more topics
and resources, including an “Ask a Doctor” feature which would allow moms to log on and
licensed physician.
“A woman has the responsibility to provide a loving and nurturing environment
for her family,” says Amber. “We want to help mothers everywhere to be the best moms

Our blog site began as a vision for Gail to use her networking skills in a way that could benefit moms. As the journey continued and she recruited Amber, the vision started to become a reality. We, as mothers, know that in order to succeed at our jobs of being a mother, it is important that we are educated, organized, and informed about all aspects of our lives and the lives of our children. Therefore, it is our goal through this website to “network” with other moms in the Sumner County area to help each other along the journey of motherhood. Together, with the help of our friends and family in Sumner County, we are building a “networking” site that will help moms to meet the needs of a running a family, household, and our lives more efficiently in hopes to succeed at our jobs of being a mother, the highest calling of a woman’s life!
