The monthly meetings saw strong attendance for a time, but began
to dwindle as moms became more and more occupied with the
responsibilities of daily life. Although the group dissolved, Amber and Gail
still saw a great need for a forum where busy moms could exchange
ideas and information, and in October of 2007, www.sumnermoms.com was born.
“Moms are the center of the household. Everything happens through mom,”
says Amber. “This website is literally a one-stop shop for moms.”
So far, the response to the website has been overwhelming. And not just
from Sumner County moms, but on-the-go moms everywhere! “It is extremely
important for moms to be able to be updated on the newest and latest parenting
methods, especially new moms,” says Amber. “The Internet is a great source for moms.
It helps us stay educated and informed.” Amber and Gail handle every aspect of the
website, from the maintenance to the research; and with five kids between
them and one more on the way (Amber is due to give birth to a baby girl any
day now!), they would not be able to keep the website as up-to-date and
relevant as it is now without a broadband connection. “If we didn’t have broadband, we
would not be able to update our website as frequently because of the connectivity delays,” Amber explains. “With broadband, we can update the site literally within minutes.

“A woman has the responsibility to provide a loving and nurturing environment
for her family,” says Amber. “We want to help mothers everywhere to be the best moms
they can be by providing them with tools, resources and support.”
