I went over to the Belmont Mansion this week to check it out before the festitivites Saturday, and I definitely recommend that you go for the free Family Day between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday. This is one of Nashville's treaures and since it is free on Saturday.... go for it... The event is in celebration of Adelicia Acklen's 191st birthday and is a great chance to see this 36 room mansion for free.....(Admission is usually ten bucks for adults)
The home is very interesting and fun to look around. About 40 percent of the furniture and half of the art is original....I loved the Venetian glass and the high ceilings...and dont miss the dining room....The mansion is on the inside of the Belmont University Campus and there will be games and crafts for the children as well as birthday cake and lemonade for everyone.
